Youth Ministry - St. Anthony's Church, Basavanapura

​The Youth Ministry at St. Anthony's Church, Basavanapura, is dedicated to nurturing the spiritual growth, leadership, and social engagement of young people within our parish community. Recognizing the unique challenges and opportunities faced by today's youth, the ministry seeks to provide a supportive and dynamic environment where young parishioners can deepen their faith, develop their talents, and actively participate in the life of the Church.

Mission and Vision

​The mission of the Youth Ministry is to inspire and empower the young people of our parish to live as disciples of Jesus Christ. Our vision is to create a vibrant and inclusive community where youth can grow spiritually, form lasting friendships, and become active leaders in the Church and society.

Core Activities

  • Faith Formation: The Youth Ministry offers comprehensive catechetical programs designed to deepen the understanding and practice of the Catholic faith among young people. This includes Bible study sessions, retreats, and faith-sharing groups that encourage spiritual growth and a personal relationship with Christ.

  • Youth Masses: Special Youth Masses are held regularly to provide a worship experience that resonates with young people. These masses feature contemporary music, youth-led readings and prayers, and homilies that address the concerns and experiences of the youth.

  • Service Projects: Engaging in service is a key aspect of the Youth Ministry. Young people are encouraged to participate in various community service projects, such as visiting the elderly, organizing food drives, and volunteering at local shelters. These activities foster a sense of social responsibility and compassion.

Structure and Membership

​The Youth Ministry is open to all young parishioners, typically ranging from ages 13 to 25. Membership includes students, young professionals, and anyone within this age group who wishes to deepen their faith and engage with the parish community. The ministry is structured to ensure effective leadership and active participation, with roles including:

  • Youth Coordinator: Leads the Youth Ministry, plans activities, and coordinates with other parish ministries.

  • Assistant Youth Coordinator: Supports the Youth Coordinator and helps manage events and programs.

  • Youth Leaders: Young people who take on leadership roles, organizing activities and representing the youth in parish meetings.

  • Volunteers: Adults and older youth who provide support and mentorship, assisting with various programs and events.

Meetings and Activities

The Youth Ministry meets regularly to plan and coordinate activities, discuss spiritual topics, and build fellowship. Meetings are designed to be engaging and interactive, incorporating prayer, discussion, and planning.

  • Weekly or Bi-Weekly Gatherings: Regular meetings for prayer, discussion, and planning upcoming events.
